Buxton make the trip to Wales to take on Merthyr Town on the 28th February with a 3pm kickoff.

The Bucks

On Tuesday, a 2-1 defeat to King’s Lynn extended The Bucks’ winless run to six matches.

Despite Ashton Mee netting his first goal for the club to draw them level, The Linnets responded almost immediately to restore their advantage and claim all three points.

They also suffered a 3-0 defeat to AFC Fylde at the weekend.

Reflecting on the game Fylde game, manager John McGrath said:

“We sent the boys up perfectly really and we had a really good game plan, kind of limited them to how we wanted them to play, then the first goal Young goes off script.

We had a game plan to play out through Max Bardell and Joey Dawson but we go the opposite way, so we are not set for that, and it’s a really poor goal to concede.

To be fair, after that we were in the ascendancy, we had some really good chances, then the sucker punch of a goal before halftime and it’s another really sloppy set piece goal to concede from.”

Opposition facts

Last time they faced

It was a 2-1 defeat for Buxton when the sides last met, after Kieran Burton was sent off early on. Goals from Cole Jarvis and Lewys Twamley put the visitors in control and, although Tate Campbell pulled one back late on, it was not enough to prevent them from taking all three points.
