A runner has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a leg injury during a fall in the Peak District.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team was called to the southern edge of Kinder, near Edale Valley, at around 11.30am on Sunday.
The runner had fallen on uneven and rocky ground, suffering what the rescue team described as a “painful lower leg injury.”
Because of the difficult terrain, an air ambulance was requested to assist with the evacuation.
The casualty was treated at the scene before rescuers carried out what they described as a “difficult evacuation” to the helicopter.
The runner was then flown to hospital for further treatment.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team thanked members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, who also assisted with the operation.
