The Bucks
It was a 4-0 loss in the Derbyshire Senior Cup on Tuesday against Derby County B side.
Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:
“I think the positives for tonight was the 21’s captain Liam started and played right back. He played 65 to 70 minutes and did really well.
Young Balfe in the middle of the park I thought was superb at 16 years of age, first year academy kid.
Saul came on at centre back, and that’s what it’s about tonight. It was about giving those boys the opportunity to play with the first team lads that needed minutes.
So, all in all tonight, result aside, it was good to get the lads who needed game time. My focus was on the young academy lads getting game time for the first team.”
Josh Smith is the latest addition to the Buxton squad after arriving on loan from Accrington Stanley.
