Jordan Broadbent
Reflecting on the game against Morecambe, Broadbent said:
“I think we were probably the better side in the first half, and I think coming in at half time I wouldn’t have saw that coming, to be honest.
So a lot of positive things in the first half, but the second half from our perspective is not acceptable, and we need to address it.
I think if we had come in one or two nil up at half time, we’d have been confident with it and we’d have looked good for it.
But just going back to that sort of period in the second half, that 20 minute period where we conceded four goals, from my perspective and a group’s perspective, it is not good enough.”
Opposition Facts
Founded in 1890, the club entered the Oxfordshire Senior League.
A couple of seasons ago they won the National League North with 92 points in the 2024–25 season.
They have reached the second round of the FA Cup five times in their history, and last season beat League Two side Notts County on the way to it.
And in the FA Trophy, they were winners in 2018, beating Bromley on penalties after a 1–1 draw, and own goal Roger Johnson in the 96th minute sent the game to extra time.
Nicknamed The Saints, they play their home games at St James Park, which has a capacity of over 3,500, 300 of which are seated.
The home side are led by Andy Whing, who previously managed Barrow, Solihull Moors and Banbury United before taking charge of The Saints in February this year. As a player he played over 100 times for Coventry City as well as Brighton and Oxford United.
Last season, they finished 21st in the National League and were relegated with 42 points.
This season, their home kit is red and white, and their away kit is yellow and black.
So far this season, they have won two games, lost two games and drawn two games.
Most recently, they beat Harborough 1–0, with Tom Fogarty scoring the only goal in the 15th minute. Charlie Cooper earned himself a place in the TOTW for his performance.
One To Watch: Kieron Morris
Experienced midfielder Morris signed for The Saints this summer following him leaving Tranmere Rovers.
Whilst at Tranmere he made over 200 appearances, and he also played over 140 times for Walsall at the start of his career.
In the 2019–20 season he won Tranmere Player of the Season, and he also finished runner up in the FA Trophy with Wrexham in the 2014–15 season. He scored a brace in the semi final to get The Rovers to the final.

In the last five meetings Buxton have won two, Brackley have won two, and there has been one draw between the sides.
The last time they played against each other was March 2025 when Dan Ogwuru scored the only goal at St James Park to secure a Buxton win.
At Buxton last time out it was November 2024 with Connor Hall and Matt Lowe scoring for the visitors.
