Buxton are back on the road this Tuesday as they travel to The Walks to face King’s Lynn Town on 25th November, with kick-off at 19:45.

The Bucks

Buxton returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over AFC Fylde at the weekend.

Cian Coleman opened the scoring before Luca Thomas equalised for the hosts, and Tate Campbell then struck the winner in the 55th minute.

Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:

“I’ve said it all along: if the performances are there, the results will follow. But if the performances aren’t there, you will be a leveller for teams and you can get dragged down to their standards.

“Today the performance was really high loads of energy. We worked on our shape during the week. I thought the back three were superb, I thought the two wing backs were superb, and we got it spot on. We could’ve been two or three up at half-time.

“To come away from home and to break the four game losses is good, but I always look to the next game, and today’s performance I knew was coming. The starting 11 and the five lads that came off the bench made a really positive impact.”

Opposition facts

King’s Lynn were formed in 2010 as a phoenix club following the demise of King’s Lynn FC, which had been wound up the previous year.

Their manager is former Norwich City player Ian Culverhouse. This is his third spell in charge, having previously managed the club in 2017–18 and again from 2018–21. He returned to the role last month.

They have the nickname of the Linnets which refers to a small bird that features in the club’s badge.

In the 2019-20 season, they won the National League North but returned after two seasons when they were relegated.

They have reached the second round of the FA Cup three times and in the FA Vase got to the semi-final in the 2010-11 season.

Last season they finished 6th in the league on 79 points, but lost to Chorley in the first round eliminator.

King’s Lynn are currently 16th in the league after 17 games picking up 19 points.

In their most recent game, they lost on penalties to Harrow in the FA Trophy after a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

One to Watch: Ross Crane

Crane has scored four goals so far this season and joined the club in 2024.

The winger started his career at Colchester United and AFC Sudbury before moving on to clubs such as Bury, Ipswich Town, Concord Rangers, Needham Market and Leiston.

Last time they faced

It was a 1-0 win for King’s Lynn when the sides met in March at the TSS with Greg Taylor scoring the goal in a game where Buxton were reduced to ten men when Connor Kirby was sent off.
