Buxton are on the road as they travel to Peterborough Sports on Tuesday 21st October at 7:45 pm.

The Bucks

An incredible late comeback from Buxton saw them score twice in stoppage time to snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory over Chorley.

Max Bardell opened the scoring for the Bucks, but goals from Warren Clarke and George Pratt turned the game on its head to put Chorley 2-1 up. As the clock ticked into added time, Luke Brennan levelled the scores from the penalty spot before George Ward struck in the 98th minute to seal all three points.

Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:

“It’s a great way to win a game of football. If you’re going to win a game, win it in the 97th minute. But overall, I thought we were superb.

It’s a game we dominated from start to finish. We conceded two goals from set pieces in the second half, which obviously we know Chorley are really strong from. But in general play, I asked the boys to be good at what we do, which is obviously move the ball really quick, get into good pockets and into good areas, and we played really well.

So I’m really pleased with the boys. You can just look at that last couple of minutes where we get the penalty and score the winner, but I thought as a whole we were superb.”
