Buxton secured a home tie in the playoffs with a convincing victory over already relegated Leamington, setting up a clash with Scarborough on Tuesday.
Early on, the Bucks had a golden chance to take the lead after eight minutes when Leamington’s goalkeeper gifted possession to Connor Kirby, who chose to square it to Cian Coleman, but his effort flew over the bar.
Moments later, Owen Farmer broke through on goal, only for Joe Young to react quickly and rush off his line to make an important save.
Soon after, the home side took the lead in the 11th minute as Luke Brennan won a free-kick, which Kirby stepped up to take, his effort deflecting into the net to make it 1-0.
Continuing to press, Cian Coleman did well to hold the ball up before finding Johnny Johnston, but after being played through, he was unable to hit the target.
Later in the half, Kirby went close again from a free-kick in the 28th minute, this time striking the woodwork.
Building pressure, a well-worked move from Will Trueman found Kieran Burton, though the defender could not keep his header down.
Before the break, the second goal arrived in the 37th minute when Trueman netted his first for the club with a superb strike into the top corner.
However, in added time, Max Brogan fired in from distance, adding to his catalogue of long-range efforts to pull one back before half-time.
After the restart, Buxton came out quickly and restored their two-goal advantage in the 49th minute, with Kirby slipping the ball to Johnston, whose effort crept in despite a touch from the goalkeeper.
Just after the hour mark, the fourth goal followed as Trueman turned provider, playing Brennan through, who took a touch before calmly slotting into the corner.
From the bench, Marshall Francis nearly made an instant impact, forcing Ewan Williams to clear his effort off the line.
Soon after, the woodwork was struck again, this time by Ashton Mee, who rose highest to head against the bar.
Towards the end, George Ward had a headed opportunity of his own, but his effort drifted just over the crossbar.
