On Tuesday Buxton’s game against Southport was called off due to weather conditions causing damage to the stand at Haig Avenue.
In their most recent outing last weekend, Buxton secured a convincing 5–1 victory over Radcliffe, with five different players finding the net. Goals from Brennan, Gilsenan, Burton, Sodje and Douglas sealed all three points in emphatic fashion.
Reflecting the Radcliffe game, manager John McGrath said:
“I thought we started the game really brightly, and we were really unlucky to go a goal down. I think it was against the run of play.
But we maintained our composure and scored just before halftime.
Just stuck to what we are good at, played really fast, aggressive, forward-thinking football, and as the scoreline suggests, a well deserved overall three points.”

Spennymoor have Graeme Lee in charge who became manager of the club in January 2024. He was previously manager of Marske United and Hartlepool as well as being part of the coaching staff at Middlesbrough. Whilst a player he made over 500 appearances in the football league. His dad was manager of Spennymoor United in the early 2000’s.
The club are based in County Durham and were founded in 2005 when they merged with Spennymoor United.
Nicknamed The Moors, they play their home matches at The Brewery Field which holds 4300.
Historically, their best FA Cup run saw them reach the first round which they got to in both the 2016-17 season and the 2024-25 season.
In the FA Trophy they were runners up last season losing 3-0 to Aldershot in the final at Wembley.
They have won the FA Vase which they got by beating Tunbridge Wells 2-1 in the 2012-13 season.
In 2017 they reached the National League North for the first time wining the NPL Premier Division title after beating Stourbridge 1-0.
Their record points total is 109 which they got in the 2012-13 season during this time they had an impressive run of form.
Between January 2011 and February 2013 they didn’t lose for 46 games at home and between April 2012 and April 2013 they didn’t lose for 20 matches away from home.
They also won 19 games in a row in the period of March – October 2012.
Lewis Dodds holds the record appearances at the club with 227.
Liam Henderson scored the most goals in a single season for the club hitting 37 in the 2013-14 season.
Ahead of this game they have signed 34 year old striker Frank Nouble after he was released from Gateshead.
The club finished 9th in the league last season, ending the campaign on 76 points narrowly missing out on the playoffs.
Looking at recent form, Marine sit 23rd across the last ten games, with Buxton in 8th.
Last time out, they lost 2-1 against Chester and have drawn 3 and lost 3 in their last 6 games.

Taylor is a Moors legend, having originally joined the club in 2012 he rejoined in 2015.
Since he has gone on to score over 200 goals becoming the record goalscorer at the club.
At the beginning of the season Spennymoor played a testimonial game for the forward against a Stockport County side.
In April 2019 he won the National League North player of the season award.
