National League North Report: Buxton win convincingly against Harborough Town

Buxton picked up a convincing 3–0 victory at the Silverlands against Harborough Town.

Starting the night with just one change, The Bucks replaced the injured George Cooper with Ashton Mee, while new signings Sam Aston and Jake Lewis were named on the bench after joining earlier in the day.

They began brightly, with Johnny Johnston drilling a low effort just wide and Tony Weston almost latching onto the shot as it went just past his outstretched leg.

In a scrappy opening phase, Kieran Burton became the first player booked after a foul on Dempsey Arlott‑John.

Burton then looked to spark an attack, flicking Weston through on goal, but the forward’s strike was pushed away and behind by Elliott Taylor.

Moments later, Taylor almost gifted Buxton a chance when Johnston’s press forced his clearance to rebound off the forward and back into his hands.

Buxton’s breakthrough arrived in the 29th minute, Weston delivering a deep cross that Sisa Tuntulwana kept alive by heading it back across goal. The ball found the unmarked Finn Cousin‑Dawson, who fired home his first goal for the club.

Early in the second half, Devlan Moses burst forward into space and curled a low effort that forced Taylor into another save.

Soon after, Tuntulwana’s ball across the box found Johnston, but he couldn’t connect cleanly and sliced wide.

Tuntulwana then launched one of his trademark long throws towards Burton, who couldn’t steer his effort on target.

All that pressure told in the 64th minute, Johnston winning a corner after testing the keeper at the near post. His delivery picked out the powerful leap of Tuntulwana, who headed in Buxton’s second to strengthen their grip on the game.

The Bucks continued to push, Weston cutting inside and threading a pass through to Moses, whose strike was again kept out by Taylor.

Buxton sealed the win with eleven minutes remaining, breaking from a Harborough corner as Weston released debutant Sam Aston. Showing pace and composure, Aston finished confidently into the corner to round off a dominant performance and secure all three points.

Next up for The Bucks is Marine at home on Saturday for a Halloween clash as they look to extend the winning run.
