FA Trophy draw
On Monday, the draw for the next round of the FA Trophy was made, with the Bucks travelling once again to Chorley for the second round of the competition.
The tie is set to be played on the weekend of 14 November.
Jordan Broadbent
Reflecting on the game against Chorley, Broadbent said:
“I think it’s a battle that we won. I think if you come here and out‑battle Chorley and out‑fight them and out‑dog them, you’ve got a good chance of winning the game, and we did that today.
Every single player that put a foot on that pitch today was outstanding in terms of their application.
It’s a damp day, it’s a wet day, the heavy pitch… it wasn’t a pretty football match, but we won the battle today and we were good for it. And absolute credit to the boys — we knew it was going to be a tough game.”
Opposition facts – Harborough Town
The club was founded in 1970, originally as a youth team, and the modern club was formed in 2008 as a merger with Spencer United when Harborough Town got its name.
They adopted the nickname ‘The Bees’ due to the colours they play in.
Their strongest FA Cup run came in the 2024–25 season, when they reached the Second Round of the competition.
In the FA Trophy, the club reached the Third Round last season, which is the furthest they have gone in the competition.
They play at The Beehive, which has a capacity of 2,400. Their best-ever attendance is 1,726, recorded against Carlisle United in the FA Trophy Third Round in 2025.
The away side are managed by Mitch Austin, who took charge of the club in October 2020. Previously, he was an assistant manager at St Ives Town, Kettering Town, and Bugbrooke. In May, he signed a new three‑year deal with the club.
Last season, the Bees won the Southern League Premier Central with 95 points and lost only three league games all season.
In the current five‑game form guide, they sit 19th, having accumulated five points.
In their last league game, they drew 1–1 against Worksop Town. After Riley O’Sullivan missed a penalty, Worksop took the lead through Liam Waldock, but Dempsey Arlott‑John’s equaliser meant the sides shared the points.
They are 16th in the league, with 16 points from 12 matches.
Former Bucks
Sam Osborne made over 50 appearances for the Bucks between 2022–24 before departing for Boston United.
One to watch – Britt Assombalonga
Assombalonga joined the Bees this summer, having played the previous season at League Two side Barnet.
Most notably, he played for Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough in the Championship, making over 200 appearances across the two clubs and scoring 75 goals.
In the 2013–14 season, across all competitions for Peterborough United, he scored 33 goals.
Between 2018 and 2021, he made ten appearances for DR Congo and scored in a 4–0 win against Zimbabwe.
Head to head
