Grants of up to £4,000 are now available to help attract visitors and improve the High Peak’s towns and villages for local residents.
The Borough Council’s new Towns and Villages Regeneration Fund is available to parish and town councils and constituted voluntary and community organisations for projects such as:
Production and promotion of local walking and cycling trail maps
Creative and heritage events
Tidying up public green spaces
Improving public display boards and signage
Improving the accessibility of the high streets and visitor attractions
Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said : “I’m delighted to offer this brand new additional financial help to towns and parishes and community groups who already do so much to ensure the High Peak remains an attractive place to live, work in, and to visit.
“We’re aiming to help fund improvements and events that will benefit residents and visitors alike so that we can all enjoy the variety our Borough has to offer. This new grant pot is just one of the many ways this Council is working to boost our local economy – ensuring our high streets continue to thrive and our town and village centres look at their best.

Grants from £500 to £4,000 can now be applied for and the deadline for applications is Sunday 1 December.
