Police have seized two cars following reports of dangerous driving involving high-performance vehicles in the Peak District.
Derbyshire Police said officers received a number of reports on Sunday about vehicles being driven at excessive speeds in the High Peak.
Several cars were traced to the Castleton area, while around 30 vehicles were later located on Old Mam Tor Road.
Officers spoke to drivers and identified people suspected of being involved in the anti-social driving reported earlier in the day.
Two vehicles were subsequently seized.
Police said further reports suggested some of the cars had been driven at excessive speeds and in a way that caused alarm and distress to other road users.
The Hope Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team thanked local residents for reporting their concerns and said officers would take similar action in the future where necessary.
In a warning to drivers, the team said:
“To anyone who believes the roads of the High Peak are a racetrack, let this serve as a warning – they are not.”
Police added that positive action would be taken against drivers who put other road users at risk.
No arrests were made during the operation.
