After a quiet start to the game, The Bucks began to take control of possession, moving the ball around neatly.
The visitors’ first corner of the match caused problems in the Bedford box, with loan goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore forced to punch clear under pressure.
Just before half-time, Tai Sodje delivered a teasing cross into the six-yard area, but Sammy Robinson couldn’t quite make contact to turn it home.
Bedford broke the deadlock less than two minutes into the second half when Greg Sandiford’s cross found Sam Brown, who rose highest to head past the keeper for 1-0.
In the 63rd minute, Johnny Johnston went close to levelling the score, forcing the Bedford keeper into a sharp save at his near post as Buxton pushed for an equaliser.
Sandiford continued to threaten down the flank, almost linking up with Brown again, though his cross narrowly evaded the his run into the box.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 77th minute after winning the ball back on halfway, before threading a pinpoint through pass to their top scorer, who coolly slotted home to make it 2-0.
Bedford sealed the victory in the 86th minute when Marsh grabbed his second of the game, heading in from a well-placed cross by Phillips to complete the 3-0 scoreline.
