Buxton face Leamington on 20 January with a 19:45 kick-off, as they begin a run of three consecutive away fixtures.
The Bucks
After a goalless first half, Buxton struck four times without reply to secure a convincing
Gilsenan fired The Bucks ahead on his debut. Then from the bench Coleman doubled the lead, before Sodje added a third with his finish from a whipped free-kick into the area. Campbell then capped it off with a fourth in stoppage time.
Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:
“Really pleased first and foremost with the clean sheet, and the defensive aspect of the game was excellent. Not just the back four, you have Luke Brennan, Tai Sodje, JJ and Zak all putting a shift in, and the two boys in midfield. It was an all-round really good defensive display.
I’ve always said if the performances are there and the standards are high then the results will follow, and today I thought we were excellent.
In any game of football you have to earn your right to get the ball down and play, and I thought we controlled the game from start to finish. We dealt with what they chucked in the box to us. I thought we were really energetic all over the park.
Then when the time came, it was probably 30–35 minutes into the first half, we got the ball and shifted it left to right and got Tai in the game and Zak in the game, and we just followed that through to the second half.”
