Buxton return to the TSS as they face Worksop Town in their final game of the year on 30 December, with a 19:45 kick-off.
The Bucks
It was a 2-0 win for the Bucks on Boxing Day against local rivals Macclesfield.
Johnny Johnston and George Ward secured all three points for Buxton for the first time in over a month.
Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:
“I thought we were very good. I thought we dominated the game. They had a couple of chances second half, but in the main I thought I was really proud of the boys. Particularly the second half, I thought we played really well, just a really really good away performance.
The first half seemed a little bit like two boxers just jabbing each other, and no one really wanted to go for it. So we said at half-time we’ve always been a front foot team. We have bags of pace wide and up top, we have really good quality in midfield, so we need to get the best out of those attacking players.
But we are also mindful that Macclesfield have good attacking threats. I thought the back four and goalkeeper were superb, but then our attacking threat second half was obviously superb.”
Buxton made two signings ahead of the game. The first was Connor Douglas who is a versatile player joins from Leeds United on loan until the end of the season. Then Adriel Walker joins on a four week loan from Stoke City.
