UP NEXT:

Buxton return to league action with a home tie against Southport on 4th November with a 19:45 kickoff.

The Bucks

They progressed through to the second round of the FA Cup at the weekend, beating Chatham 2-1 after extra time.

Tate Campbell equalised for The Bucks in the 62nd minute after Chatham had taken the lead early in the second half. With the score still level at full time, extra time was required, and it was Connor Kirby who stepped up in the 114th minute to score an incredible winner.

Reflecting on the performance, manager John McGrath said:

“Kirbs was on his last legs. He signalled to the bench that he was cramping up. When it broke to him, we didn’t have any runners running off him.

“If you’re going to win a game of football, especially an FA Cup tie, 118th minute, with a strike like that from 40 yards out.

I think you see after the goal’s gone in, there were bodies everywhere on the pitch. It was two teams playing with really high intensity, and a really, really good way to win a game of football.”

The Bucks have been handed an away tie against Cheltenham Town in the next round, which will be played on the weekend of 6th December.
