Second half goals from Connor Kirby and Cian Coleman secured all three points for Buxton under the lights at Blackwell Meadows as they defeated Darlington.
Early on, Alfie Myers-Smith attempted to pick out Jack Maskell with a through ball, but the pass had too much weight on it and rolled through past Joe Young in goal.
Soon after, Buxton responded with a neat move that allowed Luke Brennan to deliver a cross from the left, with Johnny Johnston closest to meeting it with a header.
Moments later the first effort on target arrived when Cedric Main struck from the edge of the area, forcing Young into a low save down to his right.
At the other end, Ben Hedley tried his luck with a powerful strike, but his effort drifted wide of the Buxton goal.
Several set pieces then caused problems for the visitors, with Kieran Burton and Kirby both having to clear the danger from the back.
Midway through the half, Young was alert off his line to prevent Jonah Lowes from lifting the ball over him with an attempted lob.
Just before the break, Scott Barrow produced the final opportunity of the half with a looping free kick that Young gathered comfortably down to his left.
Six minutes after the restart Buxton took the lead against the run of play as they worked the ball down the left, with Kirby driving forward before finishing neatly into the far corner to make it 1-0.
Shortly afterwards the first yellow card of the match was shown to Connor Douglas for preventing Rory Watson from taking a quick goal kick.
Another opportunity then fell to Main, who managed an off balance effort inside the area that was saved behind by the Buxton goalkeeper.
On 63 minutes Buxton doubled their advantage when Coleman controlled the ball inside the box and fired past Watson to make it two.
Trying to pull a goal back, Aiden Rutledge directed a flicked header from a free kick on target, but it was pushed behind by the keeper.
Late on, the final chance of the game came when Will McGowen struck from distance, his effort crashing off the crossbar before bouncing down and being cleared away.
