A team of Mini Police recently headed to Ashgate Hospice to spread festive cheer and say thank you to the staff looking after poorly people this Christmas.
The Mini Police officers from Holme Hall School took handmade cards and biscuits to the hospice, handing them out after singing Christmas songs.
PCSO Jayne Priestley, who runs the local Mini Police scheme and arranged the visit said: “Our Mini Police officers have been fantastic at Ashgate Hospice today.
“Recently in our Mini Police sessions, we’ve been learning about random acts of kindness and giving back to the community and judging by the smiles at the hospice today, the children have absolutely done this.
“Thank you so much to the hospice for the warm welcome today, and to the teachers who have made this possible. It was a lovely way to spend our last session before the Christmas break.”
Adele Taylor, Community Relationship Fundraiser for Ashgate Hospice said: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome the Mini Police to Ashgate Hospice. Their visit brought smiles and joy to our patients, those important to them, our staff and volunteers. Their beautiful carols and heartfelt gestures truly touched our hearts. A big thank you to them for spreading some festive cheer. It is a moment we’ll cherish!”
Our Mini Police scheme is aimed at children aged between 9-11-years-old. Local PCSOs and officers regularly visit and run sessions with the children teaching them about safety and the role of the police.
