Arrest Made After Closure Order Issued on Brampton Property
A property in the Brampton area of Chesterfield has been placed under a three-month partial closure order following persistent anti-social behaviour and reports of drug-related activity.
Legal action was taken by Chesterfield Borough Council in partnership with Derbyshire Constabulary after ongoing complaints about a house on Sterland Street.
According to the council, noise nuisance reports first began in 2023 but concerns later escalated to include allegations of disorder and drug activity linked to the address.
Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court has now granted a partial closure order, meaning only the tenant, council officers, emergency services or other authorised personnel are permitted to attend the property during the three-month period.
Anyone breaching the order faces arrest. Officials confirmed that the powers have already been used to take one person into custody.
To support enforcement, CCTV is being installed at the location and regular high-visibility patrols will take place to ensure the restrictions are followed.
Members of the public are being encouraged to continue reporting any breaches of the order or further concerns to Derbyshire Constabulary so that appropriate action can be taken.
