Buxton ended up with a point on the road in the National League North at Spennymoor Town.
Josh Smith gave Buxton the lead on 51 minutes before Spennymoor levelled through Glen Taylor from the penalty spot.
Rob Ramshaw then gave Spennymoor Town the lead on 80 minutes and the home side were in front until Tai Sodje found the net late on 89 minutes for John McGrath’s side.
Neither side could find a winner in the remaining moments of the game and it was a point a piece.
