A single goal from Austin Samuels was enough for Alfreton Town to secure a 1-0 win over AFC Telford United at the Impact Arena.
The Reds were solid throughout and at times defended bravely against the visitors who did ask a number of questions to the home side.
Samuel’s first half strike and overall man of the match performance was at the heart of the victory. He was fouled in the box and picked himself up to take the spot kick and that was the only goal of a tight affair.
Despite some late scares Alfreton managed to hang on and get a vital three points following the recent departure of Billy Heath.
