Queen Camilla’s Literary Festival to Return to Chatsworth

A major literary festival founded by Queen Camilla is set to return to Chatsworth House later this year.

The Queen’s Reading Room Festival will take place at the Derbyshire stately home on 19 and 20 September, following a successful debut at the venue in 2025.

Originally launched at Hampton Court Palace in 2023, the festival is part of The Queen’s Reading Room charity, which was created after the popularity of the Queen’s online book club during the Covid pandemic.

Organisers say this year’s event will feature an impressive line-up of well-known authors and personalities, including Harlan Coben, Lee Child, Clare Balding and Cecelia Ahern.

The festival brings together writers, thinkers and storytellers for a weekend celebrating books and reading, with organisers aiming to make literature accessible to a wider audience.

The charity behind the event will also continue its partnership with The Elm Foundation, supporting people affected by domestic abuse.

The return of the festival is expected to once again attract visitors from across the region and beyond to Chatsworth House.
