The quick-thinking lorry driver who saved a man’s life on the M1 at the weekend has told North Derbyshire Radio it was “a crazy experience”, but he just did what needed to be done.
Speaking to North Derbyshire Radio presenter Sean Goldsmith, Dan Shillito described seeing a man in distress, clinging to a bridge over the motorway between junctions 29 and 29a.
The incident closed the northbound carriageway for a time, on the evening of Saturday 6th September.
Mr Shillito, from Hull, told Sean how he moved his HGV underneath the man to prevent him falling to the road – listen to our exclusive interview below:
