A man’s in court today after an incident that saw dozens of homes evacuated in Chesterfield.
In the early hours of Friday, a man allegedly threw a substance at another man in the Derby Road area.
A man was taken to hospital and later discharged.
The incident led officers to search a property on Kingsley Avenue where the police say they found suspicious items.
35 homes were evacuated as a safety precaution and a rest centre was set up at Queens Park Leisure Centre.
Robert Spinks, who’s 51 of Kingsley Avenue, has been charged with wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.
