Plans have been submitted to transform a former Chesterfield pub into an assisted living complex.
Richards Consultancy and Projects Ltd has lodged a planning application with Chesterfield Borough Council to convert the Junction Inn, on Pottery Lane East, into accommodation for people with assisted living needs.
Planning documents state that the traditional pub is no longer considered commercially viable.
The application also explains that the property has been on the market for more than a year, but no offers have been received from anyone interested in continuing to operate it as a pub.
If approved, the proposed development could create three full-time jobs, with facilities for staff to provide on-site care and support to residents.
Chesterfield Borough Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by 21 December.
The proposals can be viewed through the council’s planning portal.
