Buxton suffered a defeat in Norfolk after a first-half penalty proved decisive, with King’s Lynn winning 1-0.
Starting brightly, Buxton created an early opportunity when Owen Devonport drove forward and sent a low shot into the goalkeeper’s hands within the first two minutes.
Managing possession well, The Bucks had to wait until the 14th minute for their next sight of goal. Johnny Johnston won a free kick on the edge of the area, but Kian Scales’ subsequent strike hit the wall.
Meanwhile, the hosts threatened for the first time down the left as Tom Scott released Jesse Nwabueze, who cut inside before his shot was deflected behind by George Cooper.
Searching for a breakthrough, Ed Leach aimed a cross towards Carlton Ubaezuonu’s run into the box, but the ball just evaded the forward. Moments later, Nwabueze attempted to lift the ball over the Buxton goalkeeper but was denied.
Soon after, Scales played a superb pass through to Johnston, but before he could shoot, the ball was cleared behind by a recovering defender.
Just before the interval, King’s Lynn scored. Logan Stretch came off his line and fouled Leach, allowing Nwabueze to step up and score the penalty to make it 1–0.
Early in the second half, Rhys Doherty received a yellow card after a high challenge on Burton, as the game became more physical.
Continuing to threaten, Nwabueze nearly set up Ubaezuonu inside the area, but his cross drifted across the box without a touch.
Later, a deep cross found Tuntulwana rising well, although he couldn’t direct his header on target.
Breaking down the right, Reece Hall-Johnson looked to create an opening, but his cross was blocked behind.
In response, Buxton made changes, introducing Devlan Moses, Joshua Pescatore, Max Woltman, and Tony Weston just after the hour to add fresh attacking energy.
King’s Lynn then missed a golden opportunity to extend their lead when substitute Harley Hamilton combined with Ubaezuonu, who met the cross but headed over.
Next to threaten was Ross Crane, who twice cut inside and fired efforts at the goalkeeper before sending another over the bar.
Late on, Finn Cousin-Dawson arrived with a diving header from his run into the box, but he couldn’t direct it on target.
Unfortunately for Buxton, things worsened in added time as full-back Gui Siqueira was stretchered off following a heavy collision.
Buxton now return to The Silverlands next weekend, where they host Worksop Town aiming to bounce back.
