Buxton responded from Saturday’s 4–0 defeat to Morecambe by hitting five without reply against Brackley Town at The Silverlands Stadium.
Starting on the front foot, The Bucks saw Kian Scales fire a long‑range effort that drifted narrowly wide of the post.
Soon after, Sisa Tuntulwana broke away with pace and forced a sharp save from Harrison Rhone at his near post.
In the seventh minute, Buxton took the lead. A quick pass from Josh Pescatore released Kian Scales on the overlap, allowing him to deliver a cross into the area for the arriving Tuntulwana, who made it 1–0.
Following this, Brackley grew into the game with a short spell of possession, but The Bucks’ defence limited any real chances.
Moments later, Finn Cousin‑Dawson had his shirt pulled in the area after a long throw, though the referee waved away the penalty appeals.
The visitors then produced neat build‑up play through Tahvon Campbell and Kieron Morris, who worked the ball into the box, but The Bucks cleared before it reached Kian Pennant.
Pescatore followed up with a cross into the area after strong hold‑up play from Moses. Tuntulwana won his duel at the far post and forced a corner.
Driving forward next was Scales, who burst through midfield and slipped the ball to Tuntulwana, whose shot was saved by Rhone.
Brackley ended the half with a chance of their own as Kai Lissimore let fly from distance, sending his effort high over the bar.
At the start of the second half, Lissimore again looked to create, beating his man down the right and delivering a dangerous ball into the box that had to be cleared.
Charlie Cooper became the first player booked after grabbing Scales’ shirt and pulling him back.
In the 58th minute, Buxton doubled their lead, with Kian Scales scoring his first goal for the club. Pescatore laid the ball off and Scales picked out the far corner with a superb strike.
Brackley then had a q couple of openings in quick succession. First Charlie Cooper found Campbell he the drove forward and cut inside before firing a shot on goal which Logan Stretch was forced to save. Then Dj Sturridge forced Stretch into another save after his run down the left.
However pressure continued to build for The Bucks as Pescatore took Scales’ pass in the area and whipped in a cross that found Weston, whose effort was saved. Tuntulwana tried to pounce on the rebound, but Rhone gathered before he could reach it.
Tahvon Campbell was next to create a chance for the away side after getting down the right, and holding off the challenge of Kieran Burton, he was able to get a shot away that went wide of the target.
Tuntulwana was then played in behind by Guilherme Siqueira, and after a poor clearance from the keeper he calmly slotted into an empty net for 3–0.
Ashton Mee made an instant impact off the bench, bursting through after Tuntulwana’s lay-off found Owen Devonport, whose smart flick around the corner released Mee to finish confidently for Buxton’s fourth of the night.
Finally, Mee turned provider, laying the ball back to Max Woltman, whose strike from the edge of the area rounded off the evening with Buxton’s fifth goal.
