Connor Kirby suffered a serious injury, which has left the captain having to recover from a double leg break.

Jordan Broadbent

Reflecting on the game, Broadbent said:

“ I think we were the stronger team throughout the game if I’m honest. After 20 minutes where they were very organised and hard to break down, I thought we won the first and second balls really well.

And we added different dimensions of what we are and what we want to be as a football club going into this season.

We looked very dangerous in set pieces but ultimately I thought we defended really well, the back four looked very resilient. Logan made a really good save in the first half and then after that I did think we were relatively comfortable.”

New signing

On Friday Buxton announced the signing of Josh Pescatore on loan from Swansea City until then end of the season.

Mainly a right winger he can also play on the left or through the middle as an attacking midfielder.

Last season he scored 17 goals and got 18 assists for the South Wales club.
