Despite not having much of the ball at Priestfield – Gillingham inflicted Chesterfield first league loss of the League 2 campaign with a 4-1 thrashing down in Kent.
Lenni Cirino scored on his Gills debut and their skipper Armani Little scored two penalties with Marcus Wyllie completing the home scoring late in the game.
Paul Cook’s side did find the net through Armando Dobra on 53 minutes but it was merely a consolation on a poor night for the visitors.
