Tissington Hall opens its doors to support Chairman’s charity, Ashgate Hospicecare

Tissington’s 9th Baronet, Sir Richard FitzHerbert opened the doors to his home for a fundraising event in aid of the Chairman’s Appeal for Ashgate Hospicecare.

Guests were given an exclusive tour of Tissington Hall and a fascinating insight in to the history of Sir Richard’s family and his home. There was opportunity to see the Jacobean mansion at close quarters and walk through the stunning gardens.

Following the tour, guests were then able to have a drive around the Tissington estate in a vintage 1915 Model T Ford, courtesy of the car’s owner Drew Lilleker.

NEDDC Chairman, Councillor Martin Thacker said, “I am indebted to Sir Richard for the warm welcome to his home. Everyone had an amazing time and the car journey made things extra special.”

“I am grateful to Drew Lilleker for sharing his Model T Ford for an enthralling drive around Tissington. It was a memorable visit that raised funds for my Appeal for the Hospice.”
