Officers are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in North Wingfield.
The assault happened on Friday 25 November at approximately 8.15pm on New Street, North Wingfield, Chesterfield.
A man in his 60s was approached by two men who asked for him for money. When he refused they assaulted him leaving him with a fractured eye socket.
The first man is described as being of thin build, 5ft 10ins tall with a blonde mohawk, wearing a white puffer jacket.
The second man is described as 5ft 9ins tall with a stubble, wearing a dark coloured puffer jacket.
Both are described as being in their mid-20s and had a local accent.
Officers have also been made aware that the two men may have spoken to someone moments after this incident further up the street, however this person remains unidentified.

Mike Noon's side were held to a goalless draw in the local derby with Mansfield Town Ladies on Sunday. Both sides had chances to break the deadlock but in a game of very few chances a draw was just about a fair result. North Derbyshire Radio's Matthew Rhodes spoke to Mike Noon after the game.
