Officers injured during collision with a lorry on A38

Two officers have been injured during a collision on the A38.

A lorry collided with a police car on the A38 northbound, between Mickleover and Kingsway, shortly after 9pm last night.

The car ended up on its side and this stretch of the A38 was closed while emergency services worked to extract two officers from the car.

They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving a vehicle   while unfit through drugs. He remains in custody.
