New play facilities for Wirksworth.

Work is underway on updating play equipment at Middleton by Wirksworth Recreation Ground.

A butterfly roundabout and abacus rail were two pieces of equipment chosen by residents as the district council looks to improve facilities.

It’s one of 30 parks across the Derbyshire Dales

New planters, seating and a picnic table made from recycled plastic are also to feature at the site.

While new facilities have also been installed at Yokecliffe play area.

New funding for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has been awarded a grant £552,100 from the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund will go to the Derwent Connections Project creating an area of woodland and tackling the risks of flooding Including building dams and hedge grow planting It’s one of 90 projects across the country bringing about and retaining over 2500 green jobs.
