Derbyshire’s Head of Cricket was pleased with his side after they bowled out Middlesex for 251 on the opening day of the Division 2 match at Queens Park. None of the visiting batsman reached a half century and there were no major partnerships at the crease to worry the home side at Chesterfield.

In reply Derbyshire did bat for 8 overs before play ended for the day. Shan Massood was in good form hitting several boundaries with the team finishing on 28 for 0. 27 of those runs for the mercurial Massood.

North Derbyshire Radio’s Matthew Rhodes spoke to Micky Arthur at the end of the days play.
