Derbyshire Dales Council working with EMH Care volunteers.

Derbyshire Dales District Council is working with volunteers from EMH Care & Support who provide day opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism.

Two groups of volunteers are working with the council to provide help with parks maintenance. One has been working in Derwent Gardens in Matlock Bath and Hall Leys Park in Matlock, weeding, planting and litter picking. The second group in Bakewell are working in Riverside Gardens & Bath Gardens, weeding and helping with planting.

A District Council spokesperson said

“We are really grateful for the work that the EMH Care volunteers are doing in our parks and open spaces. Their help has been really useful in keeping our open spaces looking good for visitors.”
A spokesperson from EMH Care said

“EMH Care & Support have been providing day opportunities for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism in the Derbyshire Dales since 1990.
“The disabled people we support want the same opportunities as non-disabled people and this includes wanting to be active in their communities.
