Chesterfield Ladies win the Derbyshire Women’s County Cup for the first time in their history

Mike Noon’s side defeated Derby County Women Under 20’s on penalties after the game finished 1-1.

Derby County scored the opening goal early on in the game with a 25 yard strike which found the top corner, Chesterfield Ladies responded well and after great work down the right flank, the ball was played to Millie Standen who finished from close range into the bottom corner. The goal came in the 23rd minute.

There were no further goals and the match went to penalties and despite Amy Pashley missing Chesterfield Ladies first spot kick Mike Noon’s side were triumphant and in the process put their names into the history books by winning the competition for the first time.
