Bolsover resident fined for dropping cigarette

A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) was issued on 22 April to a resident for littering in Bolsover.

Our enforcement officers were on a town patrol and issued the £65 FPN on the spot after witnessing the person throw a cigarette on the floor.

The officers regularly patrol our town and village centres focusing on areas where littering is a problem and are equipped with body worn cameras. We have a zero tolerance approach to waste crime and therefore anyone witnessed littering, including cigarette litter, will receive a £65 fixed penalty notice.

If you see litter or fly tipping in the District, please report it to us using Bolsover Council’s Self Service portal so we can investigate and take action as soon as possible.
