Bin collections in Derbyshire Dales disrupted.

todayJanuary 4, 2022 14

Background

Derbyshire Dales District Council are reporting problems with bin collections in the area.

Unfortunately Covid staff absences mean some delays and disruptions to waste and recycling collections are inevitable in the coming days.

Serco report that three drivers are currently isolating – and it is possible this number will rise.

Recycling crews that are operating are also experiencing large volumes, with trucks filling to capacity before some rounds are completed. Where this is happening crews are aiming to return the following morning.

Unfortunately, due to staff absences, the small recycling vehicle round that covers some hard-to-reach properties in Ashford in the Water, Bakewell, Cressbrook, Eyam and Great Longstone is not operating today.

We will publish catch-up information when we know more from Serco.

In the meantime please report direct to Serco on the following day after your scheduled collection any missed collection online at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/missedbin
