Ashbourne affordable homes approved.

Plans to transform the site of an Ashbourne service station and associated buildings into 37 environmentally sustainable affordable homes have been approved by the District Council’s Planning Committee.

Meeting this week, all members of the Committee apart from two, who abstained, voted in favour of the scheme at the Dove Service Station site in Mayfield Road. It will be managed by Nottingham Community Housing Association.

The development – a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership properties – will comprise six one-bed homes, 18 two-bed and 13 three-bed.

The open panel timber-framed properties will also benefit from air source heat pumps and photovoltaics. The proposed use of renewable energy technologies, sustainable design principles and sustainable construction techniques will ensure it is one of the best performing environmental housing developments in the Derbyshire Dales.
