Vital service for rape victims reopened in Derbyshire

An essential service for victims of rape and serious sexual assault in Derbyshire has now reopened fully.

Millfield House Adult Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) is once again fully operational following the completion of essential maintenance work, during which the Derbyshire team were working from Nottinghamshire’s SARC.

The team provide confidential healthcare and compassionate support to adults who have experienced rape or a serious sexual assault.

The service is also vital for victims – with the team having the ability to store any forensic samples and evidence taken for up to two years. This allows time to process the incident and means that, if they then decide they want to report to us later down the line, they can do so, and our officers have vital evidence ready for their case.

For all service requests and referrals including immediate support or to book an appointment, please call the SARC’s Pathway Support Services on 0330 223 0099 (24/7/365).
