Music event hits the right notes as it raises £350 for Ashgate Hospicecare

Holymoorside and Walton Arts Festival Society staged a ‘Musicals and Movies’ event in aid of the Chairman of North East Derbyshire’s Appeal for Ashgate Hospice.

The event featured the talents of Katy Strudwick, Minerva Chorus, vocal duetists Georgii Bailey and Chris Hanlon and musicians Olivia, Tess, Daisy, Ruby, Eryn, Kirsty and Chloe.

A varied programme from traditional to the latest show tunes included piano, flute and song.  The theme of performances was musicals and the movies.

Councillor Martin Thacker said: “The performances were truly magical.  The programme ensured emotive music to suit all tastes.  I was impressed by the level of talent showcased by local students too.

I am grateful to the Arts Festival Society for organising a worthwhile experience that realised at least £350 for my Appeal for Ashgate Hospice.”
