A remarkable final ten minutes sent Alfreton Town into the fourth round of the FA Trophy after a 3-1 victory away from home against Curzon Ashton. The Reds went into the interval 1-0 down after Jack Dunn broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time. Alfreton appeared to be exiting the competition but a sensational comeback at the end of the game sent the Alfreton away support into raptures. Conor Branson equalised for Alfreton in the 81st minute before Yusifu Ceesay put the Reds in front in the 86th minute. The icing on the cake arrived in the last minute of the game when Bailey Hobson scored to book Alfreton’s place in the next round of the competition. Alfreton Town will find out their opponents for the FA Trophy fourth round this afternoon at 1pm.

It was heartbreak in the FA Trophy though for Matlock Town. After a spirited performance, the Gladiators lost 1-0 at home to National League North outfit York City after a 90th minute goal from Mark Beck. The defeat means that Matlock can now focus solely on trying to secure promotion from the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Buxton missed out on a massive opportunity to go five points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The Bucks lost 2-1 at home to FC United of Manchester. Buxton took the lead after 29 minutes when Dom Tear’s header found the back of the net. FC United equalised though in the 56th minute through Curtis Jones and then found a winner with just ten minutes to go thanks to a Joe Duckworth goal. The result means that the Bucks remain top of the NPL Premier Division but stay just two points clear of fierce rivals Matlock Town after now playing the same amount of games. This sets up the derby clash between the two sides beautifully on December the 27th.
And in the NCEL Premier Division, Staveley Miners Welfare beat Albion Sports 3-0 at Inkersall Road. Goals from Rieves Boocock, Declan Howe and Jack Dillingham secured all three points for Staveley. The victory means that The Trojans move up to 12th place in the league.
