Chesterfield beat Wealdstone 2-1 away from home to secure a much-needed three points in the National League on Saturday afternoon. Jamie Grimes gave the Spireites the lead in the 35th minute before Joshua Umerah equalised for Wealdstone in the 52nd minute. Joe Quigley was the hero of the day though as he finally scored his first ever goal for the Spireites in the 68th minute to give Chesterfield all three points. The Spireites remain in fifth position in the National League table.

Chesterfield Ladies beat Notts County Women 5-3 away from home in a thrilling game in the East Midlands Womens Premier Division. A brace from Millie Standen plus goals from Kelly Fidler, Georgia Willson and Hannah Baker secured all three points for Mike Noon’s side. Shoniqua Barnes and Summer Gayle scored for Notts County Women before an own goal gave them their¬†third. The victory means that Chesterfield Ladies are now four points clear at the top of the East Midlands Womens Premier Division but Northampton Town Women do have four games in hand on Mike Noon’s side.
Alfreton Town drew 0-0 at home against Darlington in the National League North. Billy Heath’s side have moved up to 13th position in the table.
Buxton comfortably beat Grantham Town 3-0 at The Tarmac Silverlands Stadium to stay two points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. A brace from Diego De Girolamo and a goal from Ashley Chambers gave Steve Cunningham’s side all three points.
A late goal from Jesurun Uchegbulam gave Matlock Town a vital 1-0 win over Basford United at Greenwich Avenue in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The Gladiators remain in third position in the league and are now seven points inside the play-off places with just three games remaining.
Staveley Miners Welfare beat Penistone Church 1-0 away from home in the NCEL Premier Division. A 66th minute goal from Declan Howe was the difference between the two sides. The Trojans have moved up to ninth position in the league table with just one league game remaining.
New Mills beat Abbey Hey 1-0 at home to reach the North West Counties League Division One South play-off final. A dramatic injury-time winner from Joe Bevan sent the Millers fans wild. The victory means that New Mills will face FC Isle of Man away from home in the play-off final this coming Saturday with a place in the North West Counties League Premier Division at stake.
