Chesterfield returned to winning ways on Saturday evening as they defeated Yeovil Town 1-0 in the National League at The Technique Stadium. A sensational goal on the stroke of half time from James Kellerman secured all three points for the Spireites. The result also marked Paul Cook’s first win in his second spell as Chesterfield’s manager. The Spireites remain in second position in the National League table and sit six points behind leaders Stockport County.

An incredible free kick inside the last ten minutes of the game from Amy Pashley salvaged a 1-1 draw at home for Chesterfield Women against Oughtibridge War Memorial Women. The draw means that Mike Noon’s side stay in second position in the East Midlands Womens Premier Division.
Buxton were held to a frustrating goalless draw at Atherton Collieries in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The Bucks remain in second position in the table but are now three points behind leaders South Shields.
A dramatic 90th minute penalty from Al Byrne prevented Matlock Town from losing away at FC United of Manchester in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. A goal after just seven minutes from Alistair Waddecar gave the home side the lead but Byrne’s converted spot kick in the nick of time secured a 1-1 draw. The result means that Matlock’s winless run has now been stretched to five games. The Gladiators remain in third position in the league table and sit four points behind leaders South Shields.
Matlock Town Ladies beat Shirebrook Rangers 3-1 at home in the league. Goals from Caitlin Green, Donna Unwin and Connie Dalton sealed the victory for Matlock.
Staveley Miners Welfare lost away at Winterton Rangers in the NCEL Premier Division despite being 2-0 up at half time. A first half brace from Declan Howe put the Trojans in control of the game; however, an incredible turnaround in the second half saw Winterton take all three points with a 4-2 victory. A brace from Josh Walker plus goals from Gareth Barlow and Steven Ridley secured a remarkable turnaround with the last two goals both coming in injury time. Following this defeat, the Trojans are now in tenth position in the table.
Unfortunately, Alfreton Town’s scheduled home match against Curzon Ashton in the National League North was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
