Chesterfield Ladies battled back from 2-0 down to draw an entertaining derby game at Mansfield Town Ladies 2-2.

Mike Noon’s side were 2-0 down at the break and they needed a response after a very rare poor first half performance.

Sophie Marshall got their first goal in the 53rd minute and she finished well from close range after great work in the build up from Georgina Williams on the right wing.

The second goal came from the penalty spot just two minutes later when Amy Pashley made no mistake from 12 yards after a foul in the box was punished by the referee.

Mike Noon’s side looked for a winner and they went close when 5 minutes from time a 25 year effort cannoned back off the crossbar with the Mansfield keeper well beaten.

After the game North Derbyshire Radio’s Senior Sports Reporter Matthew Rhodes spoke to Mike Noon after the game.
