Germany forced a draw with Spain in a frantic clash of the giants at the World Cup

The sides drew 1-1 with Alvaro Morata breaking the deadlock, for Spain, just after the hour.

Niclas Fullkrug levelled for the Germans, with seven minutes remaining.

Both sides had chances.

Germany must still beat Costa Rica to have a chance of going through.

They’ll then either need Spain to beat Japan or it’ll go down to goal difference.

Earlier, Japan lost 1-0 to Costa Rica.
