Derbyshire Police have confirmed they have located a body they believe is missing man David Reaney.
Mr Reaney was reported missing on Tuesday 10th May. The 81 year old man was last seen at his home in Main Road in Eyam at around 6pm on Thursday 5th May. He spoke to family on Saturday 7th May saying he was going for a walk in Grindleford.
His family and friends had not heard from him since then. The police released two appeals in an attempt to locate Mr Reaney, before announcing the discovery of a body this on Monday morning.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Officers have found a body believed to be that of missing man David Reaney.
“The discovery was made in the Calver area of North Derbyshire yesterday morning (14 May), his family are aware and our thoughts are with them at this time. A file is being prepared for the coroner.”
